Whitsunday Escape specialises in bareboat charters.
Generally, a bareboat is a charter boat that comes without a skipper or crew. In other words you would skipper the boat yourself and your friends and family would be the crew. However, we can provide a sail guide, provisions and a cook at your request.
The boats are not bare at all. Whitsunday Escape boats are all customised and fully equipped for extended off-shore cruising in the tropics. Standard equipment on all boats includes a well-equipped galley, refrigeration, bathroom facilities, hot and cold water, linen, snorkeling gear, cockpit shade, good ventilation, cabin fans and a rigid inflatable dinghy with a 6 hp outboard motor.
The Whitsunday Escape Charter Base
Our modern fleet of 30 boats is conveniently located at Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach, the ‘Gateway to the Whitsundays’. The marina offers easy boarding, a dive shop for scuba gear hire, a liquor store, a restaurant and a small convenience store. Abel Point Marina is within a five minute walk of the town centre and is a short taxi ride from two large supermarkets.

The Whitsunday Islands
The Whitsunday Islands are situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef on the north east tropical coast of Queensland, Australia. The islands are approximately 1,100 kilometers north of Brisbane and 700 kilometers south of Cairns. There are 74 islands within the Whitsunday group. The tropical islands are fringed with coral reefs, white beaches and feature numerous secure anchorages. The outer Great Barrier Reef provides protection from ocean swells.
Cruising time between anchorages is in most cases less than two hours. The reef and islands all form part of the vast Great Barrier Reef National Park and, as such, the sea-life and wildlife are protected. Fishing is restricted in some areas.
Seven resorts are scattered throughout the islands. Most welcome visiting yachts, offering evening entertainment, dining, and the use of their facilities.
