Woodwark Bay - Whitsunday Escape
Skipper yourself bareboat charter company

Woodwark Bay

Situated on the Whitsunday Coast north of Airlie Beach, Woodwark Bay is a quiet and calm spot where you can get away from it all without having to venture too far. Locals enjoy this bay for:

  • fishing
  • proximity to Coral Sea Marina – great for first or last night anchorage
  • kayaking and stand up paddle boarding
  • Dugongs and turtles

With a small beach accessible at low tide and a rough walking track located on the other side of Grimston Point for those wanting to explore, this bay will provide you with a few adventures and at least, a good night’s sleep as it’s very protected and provides an excellent holding ground anchorage.

Hot Tip

The 2008 Hollywood blockbuster movie Fool’s Gold filmed a scene with Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey at Grimston Point. They spent some time filming in the Whitsundays, and the cliff hanger scene at the blowhole is filmed here. (There isn’t actually a blowhole at Grimston Point, they added that with movie trickery!)
