Daydream Island set to reopen late September 2018
Daydream Island has long been a favourite destination for bareboat holiday makers in the Whitsundays. Situated so close to the mainland, it was an excellent first or last night stop for a bareboat holiday, in a beautiful protected anchorage.
The resort offered a bareboat mooring option that would also give you access to the island’s facilities, so you could go ashore and have a swim in the enormous resort pool, enjoy a cocktail at the swim-up bar, and experience the magnificent Living Reef aquarium – the southern hemisphere’s largest outdoor aquarium, full of Great Barrier Reef fish and coral species, with a series of hands-on experiences.
Sadly, Cyclone Debbie had a huge impact on the island and it has been closed for refurbishment since late March 2017. Now with redevelopment well underway, we can tell you that Daydream Island will reopen for business in late September 2018.
This is great news for Whitsunday bareboat holidays as boaties can now enjoy another island hopping experience whilst on charter. See what other islands you can visit here.
Daydream Island’s owners recently announced an increase in funding for the development, and released some images and info about the new plans and it looks beautiful! We’re very excited to see this fun family friendly resort open up again. The new redevelopment costs are estimated at $100 million!
The mock-ups of the new resort rooms they have released are elegant and inviting, have a look!
