Whitsunday Escape WINS GOLD at Tourism Awards

Whitsunday Escape took out a sixth consecutive tourism award win at the 2017 Whitsunday Tourism Awards on the 30th September in a gala ceremony on Hamilton Island

We would like to give special thanks to our charterers – we love sharing our passion of the Whitsundays and bareboating to both new and repeat guests and we wouldn’t be winning awards without you!

We would also like to thank our charter boat investors and dedicated staff – there would be no Whitsunday Escape if it wasn’t for each role that they all play!

We’ve had a massive growth spurt this year – both in terms of boats and staff. We have gone from 33 to 41 boats in our fleet and increased our staff levels to match. We are exceptionally proud of the hard work and dedication all our team members have put in that resulted in us receiving this tourism award.

This year we had 21 team members in attendance at the awards ceremony; the largest turn out Whitsunday Escape has ever had and also the largest staff contingent of all Whitsunday businesses. We have been the largest bareboat company in the Whitsundays for several years now, and are in fact the largest bareboat company in Australia. It was an amazing experience to celebrate the win with so many dedicated staff!

A bareboat holiday is a wonderfully unique way to experience the magnificent Whitsunday Islands and reefs.

You don’t need a licence, just a little boating experience. Guests can choose from a diverse range of 41 boats, from budget to luxury, and can travel with as few as 2 people, or as many as 12. Whether it is a romantic getaway or a big group trip, a bareboat can provide the ideal holiday. Whether you want an action-packed adventure holiday or a relaxing romantic getaway, a bareboat holiday is all that and more.

“We’re very fortunate that we have such strong, forward-thinking leadership from our Managing Director Trevor Rees, and such wonderful boat owners who entrust us with their assets. We’re thrilled to be able to continue to provide outstanding service and remarkable holidays for all our customers long into the future. The fact that we have won tourism awards six years in a row tells us that we are doing something right.” Reservations Manager, Alita De Brincat, said.

Whitsunday Escape is also in the running for a Queensland Tourism Award, to be announced at a gala ceremony in Brisbane on 10th November. In three of the four previous years, we have received a bronze, silver and a gold award at the Queensland Tourism Awards. In 2013, we won Gold at the Australian Tourism Awards so we are excited to see how far we can go this year and the years to come.
