It is one of the most famous beaches in the world and is constantly ranked as one of the best beaches by numerous sources, year after year.
The beach stretches over 7km along Whitsunday Island and offers two bushwalks with fantastic views – Hill Inlet bushwalk (1.3km return) and Whitehaven to Chance Bay bushwalk (5km return).
Hill Inlet bushwalk only takes around 15 minutes to reach the lookout - your chance to take those postcard worthy photos
Check out the view of the swirling silica sands and with over 7 Km's of beach you'll have time to explore, sunbath, swim or snorkel
Whitehaven Beach is an excellent anchorage with wind protection from:
- South East,
- West, and
- North West winds
Whitehaven Beach is an excellent place to see all sorts of wildlife - birds, fish, turtles and lizards are always around
At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach is Hill Inlet where there is a short bush walk from Tongue Bay up to the Hill Inlet Lookout which affords stunning views along the length of the inlet and Whitehaven Beach.
Walkers can try the 5km round trip walking track from the southern end of Whitehaven Beach to Chance Bay (2.5km one way) for spectacular views of the surrounding islands and two beautiful beaches. Part of the ‘Ngaro Sea Trail’.
