Whitsunday Escape Gives Back

Whitsunday Escape has been the main sponsor of two raffles so far this year and together, have raised a whopping total of $47,575!

None of this would be possible without the overwhelming support of our customers and generosity from our boat investors.

The first raffle was to raise funds for Hands Across the Water and a total of $12,500 was donated.

The General Manager of Hands Across the Water said “We are so pleased to have partners like Whitsunday Escape and their customers, who year after year support us and ensure we can continue our important work”.  Like most charities COVID-19 has impacted Hands Across the Water and with borders closed for the foreseeable future,  the charity has turned to new ways to raise funds.  The recent raffle was the idea of one of our riders and fundraisers, Steven Ford who is the owner of “A Little Bit Nauti”.  Steven said “Trevor and the team at Whitsunday Escape are incredibly generous, and their continued support is most appreciated.  Thanks to the people who bought tickets and congratulation to the young Brisbane couple who won the prize”

This prize was for a 5-night holiday on our luxury Nautitech Open 40 Sailing Catamaran and the winner was Clare A. from QLD.

When contacted, she was happily surprised about her prize and said she can’t wait to experience the Whitsundays.

The second raffle raised a massive $35,075 and was donated to Variety, the Children’s Charity.

Paris Bedford, Co-Organiser of The Event said “I cannot thank Whitsunday Escape enough for their generous efforts in donating both the main prize and their time to help organise the raffle. Also a big thank you to the boat owners for putting forward their boat for the prize.
Along with the funds from the main raffle and other local prizes that had been donated and raffle off on the night, a grand total of $50,849.05 was donated directly to Variety, the Children’s Charity!”

The winner was Darren L. from QLD and the prize was a 5-night holiday on our fabulous Leopard 48.4 Sailing Catamaran.

When we spoke with Darren, he was thrilled with the news and started looking at dates straight away. Within hours, we had confirmed his August 2022 escape.

Managing Director, Trevor Rees, said “We are thrilled with the amount raised for each of these charities and as always, it is thanks to the generous support of our customers.”

Whitsunday Escape stays committed to supporting the local community and nation-wide causes by working alongside worthy campaigns, charities and organisations.
