Chance Bay Whitsunday Escape

Because the prevailing trade winds are SE this bay is often not visited. As such it offers;

  • snorkelling
  • plentiful marine life
  • fishing

A good option if you want to visit Whitehaven Beach and the winds are from the north. There is 7.2km round trip walking track to Whitehaven Beach. Part of the ‘Ngaro Sea Trail’. Be sure to take plenty of water with you.

A good lookout at front of vessel required as there are isolated coral heads when coming into anchorage. Anchor off the fringing reef which may become exposed at low tide.

Check out the secluded beach at the north west side of the bay.
