Nara Inlet, Hook Island

Nara Inlet is a very protected anchorage on Hook Island that is popular with all boaties.

A unique factor about Nara Inlet is the cave at the furthest end, where you will find Ngaro Aboriginal cultural site. The bush track up to the cave is well-marked, gentle and accessible by people of all fitness levels. Interpretive signage along the way explains the significance of the site and the cave paintings.

  • North
  • South
  • East
  • West

Keep to starboard when entering Nara Inlet to avoid reef area extended from all shores.

Hot Tip

After heavy rains, the waterfall near the Aboriginal Caves may be running.
