Turtle Bay, Whitsunday Island

Because the prevailing winds in the tropics are South Easterly, this bay is not often visited. When the conditions are right, this is a great spot for:

  • snorkeling
  • plentiful marine life
  • fishing

There are five beaches within Turtle Bay, four of which can normally be accessed at low tide. It’s a great spot to explore the surrounding coastline in a kayak or on a stand up paddle board.

Nautical Information

Wind protection only from:

  • North
  • North West
  • North East

A good lookout at front of vessel required as there are isolated coral heads when coming into anchorage. Must anchor off fringing reef.

Hot Tip
