5 Non-SUP Activities to Enjoy During the Whitsunday SUP Challenge

Our top 5 non-SUP-related activities

Did you know that Whitsunday Escape runs the annual Whitsunday SUP Challenge every May?

You may think the Whitsunday SUP Challenge is all about SUP.

SUP, SUP, SUP.

Well, it’s not. It’s sooo much more than that! We’ve got a host of other activities organised and a bunch of free time too. So, when you’re not SUP’ing, what are you doing?

Here’s our top 5 non-SUP-related activities to enjoy while participating in the Whitsunday SUP Challenge:

  1. Hamilton Island Resort Day
Let us take you to world-famous Hamilton Island for dinner. We’ll berth our boats in the marina overnight, get dressed up and go out for dinner in one of the many amazing restaurants on the island. This island stop-over also includes some leisure time, and if it’s like year’s gone by, we’ll meet you at the swim-up pool bar for a cocktail!
  2. Swimming and Snorkelling
The Whitsundays are some of the most beautiful waters in the world, with epic beaches, deserted islands, and fringing coral reefs around almost every island. We make sure you have lots of free time and some entire lay days where you are at leisure to swim and snorkel to your heart’s content. Snorkel gear is included free of charge, BYO inflatable to create your very own swim-up bar, and for some epic profile pics!
  3. Beaches
The Whitsunday Islands are fringed by beaches, some famous, some secret, and all of them beautiful. From the pure white silica sand of Whitehaven Beach which squeaks under your feet, to coral beaches you could comb over for hours looking at beautiful shells and pieces of coral, the diversity is astounding.
  4. Sunsets
The Whitsunday Islands are known for epic sunsets and when you sleep on a boat, you get to enjoy the best of them with waterfront ocean views every night. Remember to sit outside and take a moment to appreciate the wonder around us.
  5. Bushwalks
Whether you are looking for a big challenge, or just a short scenic walk, there are dozens of beautiful bushwalks dotted around the Whitsunday islands for you to explore. The views from the top are so worth it, make sure you do at least one Whitsunday island bushwalk.

Reckon the Whitsunday SUP Challenge might be for you after all? Go on, give it a go – challenge yourself!
