Today Show LIVE in Airlie Beach!

Tune in to Channel 9 on Wednesday 1st of June 2016 from 6-9am for a live show from Airlie Beach foreshore! While we have had weather crosses before, tomorrow for the first time ever, the entire Today show team will be live in the Whitsundays.

Locals and visitors alike are invited to join the party down by the beach along the Esplanade from 6 – 9am.

Sports report from the Whitsundays

Leopard-44-cockpit-800x533The first live sport report from Tim Gilbert, at 6.10am, will be on board a luxurious Leopard 44 sailing catamaran. Tim will bring you all the latest in sport, including everything you need to know about the first State of Origin game that very night!

The whole news crew, including anchors Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson will be live on the Airlie Beach foreshore. We are looking forward to seeing all our favourites, including Sylvia Jeffreys, Richard Wilkins, Steven Jacobs, David Campbell and Sonia Kruger too.

We know they’ll love the warm autumn weather of the Whitsundays as much as we do, considering how cold it is in Sydney at the moment! Up here, we’re still getting highs of 26°C every day.

Go bareboating

Autumn and winter is actually the perfect season to go bareboating. The weather is perfect, the waterways aren’t crowded, there are some good specials on bareboat hire, and the whales will soon be migrating north to the Whitsundays too!

Anyone can go bareboating. You don’t need a licence, all you need is some boating experience and a good sense of adventure!

We welcome the whole Today show crew to the Whitsundays, and hope they all get the opportunity to go bareboating with us soon!
