Whitsunday Escape wins GOLD at Queensland Tourism Awards
Whitsunday Escape wins gold for second time at Queensland Tourism Awards
Whitsunday Escape last won the Queensland Tourism Award for Unique Accommodation in 2013, and went on to win gold at the Australian Tourism Awards that year.
Whitsunday Escape has been awarded 13 Whitsunday Tourism Awards, ten Queensland Tourism Awards and one Australian Tourism Award since first entering the awards programs in 2004.
Whitsunday Escape attended the 34th annual Queensland Tourism Awards on Friday 16 November 2018, amongst 14 other high-calibre Whitsunday tourism operators.
There were over 170 entrants across 28 categories, and 900 people attending the event held at the Star Casino on the Gold Coast.
“Whitsunday Escape is very proud to have been awarded Gold for Unique Accommodation amongst such a fantastic group of businesses,” says Office Manager Alita DeBrincat.
“It’s a great honour. We wouldn’t be here without our dedicated staff and investors. We are proud of our passionate team who provide everyone with the most memorable holiday and our loyal boat owners who entrust us with their investments. Thank you to the category sponsors, Capri by Fraser Brisbane.” Alita added.
“It’s the second time we have been recognised as the best Unique Accommodation provider in the state, and we hope to show we are also the best in Australia,” Alita said.
Gold Winners at the Queensland Tourism Awards proudly represent the state at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in their winning category, which will be held in Tasmania on 1 March 2019.
“The beauty of a bareboat holiday is the uniqueness of the entire experience. You can choose from a variety of boat styles and budgets. We then give you a comprehensive briefing to ensure you are confident with it. You don’t need a licence, just a little boating experience. It is a personally tailored holiday where you get to choose the pace and experiences for each day around the Whitsunday Islands. Every holiday is different, and there really is something for everyone. There’s no other holiday experience quite like it!” Alita said.
The Whitsunday region was the equal second most awarded region on the night, behind the Gold Coast who received 17 awards. The Whitsundays and Tropical North Queensland both received 13. The Whitsunday region collected four gold, six silver and three bronze awards.
