Mobile phone reception is possible from most anchorages on the west side of Whitsunday Island, Hook Island and within the vicinity of Hamilton Island.

All boats are fitted with an electrical outlet suitable for 12 volt mobile phone chargers the same as your car. We recommend you bring a 12v charger with you.

VHF Radio

All boats are fitted with a VHF Radio

Whitsunday Escape monitors channels (82, 81, 22 & 74) between 8 am and 5 pm.

Radio Schedules “Scheds”

Whitsunday Escape will call each vessel at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Channel 81, Channel 82 (for vessels northern section). Whitsunday Escape will provide you with the weather and tides for the day. When called, advise us of your intentions for the day. At the afternoon “sched”, we will provide you with weather update if any and confirm your overnight anchorage. If you miss any of your scheds please give Whitsunday Escape a call when you have a chance.

You are required to be anchored safely by 4 pm. (It is difficult to see the coral when entering anchorages late in the afternoon) If you cannot be anchored by 4 pm for any reason please give Whitsunday Escape a call.
