Frequently Asked Questions

How do the Whitsunday Escape season specials work?

You stay more nights than you pay for. In low season (17 Jan – 21 Mar 2027) you can sail 7 nights for the price of 4, 10 nights for the price of 5.5, or 14 nights for the price of 7. Shoulder and peak seasons have their own specials, shown in the table above.

When is the best value time to book a bareboat charter in the Whitsundays?

Low season offers the biggest saving – up to 7 nights for the price of 4. Shoulder season offers 7 nights for the price of 5 – see the table above for all shoulder season dates.

What fees are payable on top of the charter price?

Before your charter you pay the Environmental Management Charge ($25.50 per person aged 4 and over, rising to $27.00 for charters departing from 1 April 2027) and a $38.00 per person sundries charge. Vessel and dinghy fuel is paid at check-out.

Do I need to pay a damage waiver or security bond?

No damage waiver is required. At check-in, a refundable $4,000 security bond is taken as a pre-authorisation on your credit or debit card.

Can I sleep on the boat the night before my charter?

Yes. Stay Aboard is $250 and is guaranteed with Whitsunday Escape. It gives you time to explore Airlie Beach, stock the boat with groceries and get familiar with your boat, so you’re ready to go in the morning.

Can I hire extra equipment like paddleboards or Starlink?

Yes. Rental equipment includes stand-up paddleboards, Starlink, fishing gear and beach kits, and can be requested through the equipment hire form.
